The National APCA Scholarship Program and the Washington State APCA Scholarship Program results are in! Please join us in congratulating three students from Washington State as APCA scholars. Kyle McCrohan from Inglemoor High School was one of the 15 recipients of our APCA National Scholarship. This year APCA Washington was able to fund raise enough money to support two state scholarships. Angelito Imadhay from Marysville Getchell High School and Waverly He from Mountain View High School were recipients our Washington chapter's State Scholarship worth $1000 each. Pictured below are the 15 APCA National Scholars who were awarded the $2000 scholarships totaling $30,000. One of the national scholarships was awarded to Kevin Gilboy from Freehold, NJ who is a child of an active APCA member. The scholarship committee was very impressed all of our scholars academic, community and personal achievements in making a difference in the community. We hope that the scholarship award will help them in achieving their educational goals as they all attend their respective colleges and universities this fall.
The APCA Scholarship Program received more then 540+ applications from states with an active APCA chapter present. This program would not be possible without the 120 volunteers from all of APCA's chapters. Participation from APCA Washington State chapter was amazing this year! Fifteen local members participated in the scholarship program as they contacted schools, helped with application administration and functioned as judges in reviewing and scoring the student applications. Please join us in thanking the following amazing volunteers from Washington State: Brandon Duong, Carol Tagayun, Cheryl McMillen, Daniel Kim, Jack Quan, James Hu, John Liu, Kakali Bhattacharyya, Lien Dao, Linda Ishii, Michael Newell, Rajan Makadia, Rani Sandoy-Brown, Robert Lee and Sara Guan. Their support and contribution to the program was greatly appreciated!
